Early this year, the Beckham’s splashed out £40 million on their new home: a 7 storey Victorian mansion in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. A further £5 million will be spent on renovations, including hiring interior designer Kelly Hoppen to redesign, the 1000 sq ft master bedroom and ensuite.
Close friend, Princess Kate, has already declared she is sourcing antique Grecian statues as a house warming present and has described the master bathroom as ‘marvellous’. But what will this bathroom look like, and how could you get it without buying a mansion?
What we know
There have been no definitive designs or pictures released yet, but designer Hoppen has been quoted as saying that the bathrooms will be ‘an ever evolving style, underpinned by a subtly coordinated fusion of East meets West: clean lines and neutral tones, blended with charming warmth and sumptuous opulence’.
Based on this description, we at Bathroom Boutique picture something similar to this:
Neutral tones? Check. Subtle fusion of East and West? yes – the sliding door in particular echoes this. Sumptuous opulence? We think so.
We don’t know exactly how much the Beckhams will be spending on their bathroom renovations, but as they have a world famous designer on board and are hardly strapped for cash, it’s safe to assume it won’t be cheap. But it doesn’t have to be expensive. Below is how we would recreate the above look without breaking the bank.
